ABOUT US

PURE 70s: The Best of 70's Classic Hits!

If you were around back in the 1970s, you know how great Top-40 radio was! The songs, the artists and the DJs made radio so much fun. I was privileged to live the life of a Top-40 DJ at three AM stations in the 70s, and now I'm bringing you the very best of those songs & artists on PURE 70s, our 24/7 channel on Live365.com. Every song on PURE 70s is personally chosen from my own 1970's radio experience and Billboard's Hot-100 charts covering the years 1969-1979.

Tom Petty's famous quote about the music of his generation fits PURE 70s perfectly: "Every generation thinks their music was the best - but in my case, it's true." 🙂 I couldn't agree more! Now it's time to "get back to where you once belonged" on PURE 70s! -Rick Sparks, Program Director, PURE 70s Radio

THE MUSIC

PURE 70s: The Best of 70's Classic Hits!

From my days as a radio DJ in the 1970s until now, the pop & rock songs of my generation have taken on an incredible life of their own. You hear them every day in supermarkets, commercials and yes, oldies radio.

It's been a dream of mine for a long time to use my decades of experience in radio to curate the best of classic 70's radio hits in a streaming format like PURE 70s. With the help of digital technology and remastering, these songs & artists sound better than ever. We didn't know how timeless this music was back then, but we sure know it now!

An oldies format like PURE 70s preserves not only the songs but the artists themselves as they were in their prime. As we listen to the music of Jim Croce or Linda Ronstadt or Karen Carpenter, these beloved artists are once again young and vibrant, creating magic with their music. And just maybe, for those of us who were around back then, hearing these songs helps us feel a bit younger as well. That can't be a bad thing, can it?

I'm so glad you found us - enjoy the music of PURE 70s! - Rick Sparks, Program Director, Pure 70s Radio

"The best music is essentially there to provide you something to face the world with."
